Premier Sports Bar in Lyndonville: Delivery and More…| 09.06.17
Downside: Pizza Joint Menu so Not Gourmet Cooking, Seating Options are Limited – Mostly Small Tables
The Pizza Man is the best little Sports Bar in the Northeast Kingdom.
From its inexpensive menu to its bar layout, from the great apps to the easy crowd pleasing menu options, there is a lot going on at The Pizza Man restaurant in Lyndonville – and all of it seems good.
We recently tried out Pizza Man after not having been there for about a year – and we were pleasantly surprised.
What’s to Eat At The Pizza Man in Lyndonville
To start, we had heard good things about their wings, so we ordered some. These are not ordered by the dozen or the half dozen. Instead you order them by the pound, and they are some good sized wings.
My husband went with the sweet chili wings. These proved to be too spicy for my pallet, but my husband loved them. They were cooked perfectly with a nice crunchy outside (he likes them burned but that is a personal preference) These are so far his favorite wings in the Kingdom!
For dinner, I ordered the Turkey Bacon Swiss Melt at the suggestion of our server. I was not disappointed. Every bite was full of melted, cheesy, bacon-y, goodness. The lettuce is just iceberg so it didn’t add anything to the dish, but the meat/cheese ratio was perfect – that is not always the case. And the sub roll was full.
This was served with a side of house made chips – I wish these were available as a side, as I might order these alone they were so good. Not one was soggy.
My husband was on a chicken kick, so he also tried the chicken fingers with sweet and tangy sauce with a side of onion rings. Again everything was cooked really well. The sweet and tangy sauce wasn’t our favorite as it has a strong mustard flavor profile.
On other visits I have enjoyed their Alfredo dish which I particularly enjoy. It is a large portion so be aware.
Okay, so it is the only sports bar in Lyndonville, and maybe in the Kingdom – but that doesn’t detract from its awesomeness.
The bar space is a bit small but there are 5 televisions so there is no way that you’ll miss the game. When we visited, baseball was in full swing. But hockey and football are prominent draws to the bar. The walls are decorated with signed memorabilia, and the full bar (and wing or burger night) make for the full sports bar experience.
If you’re not looking for sports, the dining room side of the restaurant allows for family friendly dining that seems to be well removed from the noise of the bar. It is mostly booth seating on that side though, so large parties may have to split up.
During nicer weather, the Pizza Man has a full outdoor dining area to enjoy. And they have an ice cream window! A summer favorite for many of the local kids.
On top of all of this, the Pizza Man delivers!
This is one of the very few delivery services in the entire region. I was told that they deliver to the St. Jay/Lyndonville area, but have even gone as far as Sutton and Sheffield – so if you are looking for delivery, give them a call and see if your area is on their route.
Overall, the Pizza Man is a fun, family friendly restaurant perfect for feeding a bunch of teens, grabbing some quick, delicious food, watching the game, and hanging out with friends.
While it isn’t 5 star food, there are many menu items to enjoy. And re-experiencing the Pizza Man restaurant has made me excited for football season!
