The Orange Rind is a fantastic spot to spend a summer afternoon, or a cold winter day. This East Burke Restaurant has one of the best outdoor dining spots in all of the Northeast Kingdom.
Small, intimate dining areas with firepits and televisions (YES, outside), provide privacy for conversations with friends and family, or make a great spot for date night.
Or, if you’re looking for more noise and the appeal of the bar scene, take a seat at the backyard gazebo bar. This spot is open to the air during the summer, while offering cover from rain or beating sun. Popular with locals and visitors alike, this East Burke restaurant is close to Kingdom Bike Trails, in walking distance to other attractions, and is a short drive from Burke Mountain.
And the fun doesn’t stop during the winter! Sides are added to the gazebo bar, keeping it cozy throughout the season. The Orange Rind is a popular spot for snowmobilers who can pull in, order, and not even take off their gear. And, being so close to Burke Mountain Skiing, and the winter bike trails nearby, there is plenty of activity here through the winter months. Though the main restaurant is small, there are a number of tables inside that seat small parties.
Now for the food, cause that’s really why we’re all here. This restaurant has an eclectic mix of menu items, and each season offers something new. From great snacks to share with friends (like the pretzel – but, let’s be honest, you probably won’t be sharing) to grain bowls and burgers that leave you happily full. Then, there is the smoothie bar. Located inside the main restaurant, this is a summertime draw that you just have to try – ‘cause really, nothing tastes better on a summer day than a cold fruit smoothie! Open through the winter as well, the smoothie bar is a main attraction at the Orange Rind.
A full bar, a great selection of beer, and a fun list of cocktails rounds out this East Burke restaurant’s offerings.
Trivia, live music, food truck pop ups, and other entertainment spring up throughout the year, so be sure to check out the calendar of events (link) to see what’s in store.
Overall, if you’re looking for a great atmosphere, a wonderful outdoor dining spot, or a fun gathering place with friends, check out the Orange Rind restaurant in East Burke, VT.
